Submission Categories
The applications falling in any of the following two categories should demonstrate alignment with one or more sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the impact on the sustainable development.
(1) Research
Submit an Extended Abstract or Opinion Article.
Extended Abstracts contain all relevant aspects and information of a regular research in a form that is shorter than the full text. Selected Extended Abstracts will be published in Frontiers in Sustainability in the form of Opinion Articles.
Opinion articles allow authors to contribute viewpoints on the interpretation of recent findings in any research area, value of the methods used, as well as weaknesses and strengths of scientific hypotheses. They should abide to the following guidelines: not contain unpublished or original data, be supported by evidence, be fully referenced, encourage constructive discussion, refrain from emotionally-charged argumentation.
Authors of selected Extended Abstracts will be invited to submit a full-length Original Research Article to Frontiers in Sustainability. The chosen Opinion Articles and Original Research Articles will sit within an article collection featuring the research selected for presentation at the conference.
Articles must have a maximum word count of 2,000 and may contain no more than 1 Figure/Table.
The articles should have the following format: 1) Introduction and objective, 2) Subsections relevant for the subject, 3) Findings / Discussion, 4) Conclusion and References.
Articles submitted will be subject to peer review.

(2) SDGs Project Showcase
This category includes any type of complete or ongoing projects strongly aligned with SDGs which has led to tangible outcomes with remarkable impact and benefit to the sustainable development.
The applications can be submitted using the following application form.
Best projects will be shortlisted for the final demo / presentation on the event day
Selected projects will receive prizes ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.
